eMints!

What is eMints?

Our class has the great privilege of being involved in an amazing technology project that Provo School District implemented a few years ago.  Our classroom was one of the original six classrooms that was a "pilot classroom" for Provo School District.  This exciting technology project is called eMINTs.

eMints is a program that changes how teachers teach and how students learn.  It is an instructional model that provides a research-based approach to organizing instruction and can be implemented in any subject area at any level.  The were originally two classes at Franklin Elementary that were included in the program, and four other classrooms in the District for the 2005-2006 school year.  Since then, each year the district adds a few new eMints classrooms at various schools among the district.

The goals of this technology project are to:

                             * inspire educators to use instructional strategies powered by technology

                             * engage students in the excitement of learning

                             * enrich teaching to dramatically improve student performance
